LA FOOD GUIDE – My Top 10 Picks for LA eats.

I’m frequently getting asked by friends, family, and A LOT of folks via social media “What are some good places to get Vegan and Vegetarian food in Los Angeles?” So I thought it would be fun to create a LA food guide. I have tried a lot of places in my time of eating no meat and have gathered some of my favorite vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurants and bars. Here are MY top 10 favorite spots:

1. Doomie’s Vegetarian Home Cookin’ – V and VT

1253 N Vine St
Ste 9
Hollywood, CA 90038

Doomie’s is an amazing Vegan food spot, it’s basically Vegan junk food HEAVEN. They have a wide variety of options from vegan fried chicken, vegan po’ boys, to their specialty THE Vegan Big Mac! They also offer amazing vegan baked goods like cakes and pies. Also if you are with someone who’s not ready to eat completely vegan they do offer regular cheese for vegetarians! Doomie’s also stays open late, (which is pretty rare with most Vegan restaurants), If you’re looking for a place to take your non-veg friends for a Vegan or Vegetarian meal, Doomies in Hollywood is the place!

2. Stuff I Eat – V

114 N Market St
Inglewood, CA 90301

La Food GuidePictured above: Lava Burrito

Home of the vegan soul food platter; Stuff I eat is a Vegan soul food restaurant in the heart of downtown Inglewood. I love this place, the owner and her daughters are so nice and informative of everything that’s on the menu. Everything we tasted was delicious and you’d NEVER believe the owner of this establishment is in her 60’s! She looks so glamorous and young, she credits her youthful glow to eating a plant-based diet for many years. WOW!

3. Blue Dog Beer Tavern – V and VT (Bar and Grill)

4524 Saugus Ave
Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

LA food GuidePictured above: The Dickens with a veggie patty.

  • My personal recommendation: Fire Starter Burger with avocado instead of cheese! AMAZEBALLS

One of Willie and I’s favorite weekend spots in Sherman Oaks, we can always rely on Blue Dog to provide us with booze and quality vegan and vegetarian bar food! They have soups, salads, sandwiches and more! They are also super pet friendly so you can bring your poochie with you to sit on their awesome patio.

4. The Six Chow House – V and VT

12650 Ventura Blvd
Studio City, CA 91604

The perfect date spot, so glad that I stumbled upon this GEM. This restaurant is tucked away with a small string of businesses on Ventura Blvd that you can quickly drive past if you aren’t paying attention. The menu has a pretty good variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. They offer vegan cashew cheese as a substitute for regular mozz on the pizzas and flatbreads. Their buffalo cauliflower wings are also THE BOMB!! This place is a must try you’re near Studio City.

5. Bea Bea’s – V and  VT (Breakfast)

353 N Pass Ave
Burbank, CA 91505

LA food guide

We rarely go out for breakfast but when we do we love to goto places that serve up a mean breakfast. BeaBea’s is just that place; The waffles, pancakes, and french toast are all amazing! Although this place is mostly vegetarian friendly they do have a few vegan options too! If you’re near Burbank looking for a great breakfast or brunch check out BeaBea’s!

6. Gracias Madre – V and VT

8905 Melrose Ave
West Hollywood, CA 90069

LA food guide

Gracias Madre is a awesome new plant-based Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood. They have a wide selection of amazing vegan food and drinks, they are also pet friendly so you can bring your pooch to lunch or dinner with you! The parking here can get tricky, but the food is absolutely worth the hunt for a parking spot.

7. Vegetable – V and VT

3711 Cahuenga Blvd
Studio City, CA 91604

LA food guidePictured above: Vegan Cheesy fingerling potatoes – (so good)

Vegetable is a completely plant-based restaurant in Studio City. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes and they all taste pretty amazing! In my opinion lunch time is the best time to go because they offer a pretty great lunch special. The inside is adorable and inviting to go along with the super comforting food that they serve. Vegetable is a must to eat at in LA!

8. Happy Days Cafe – V and VT (Dessert)

14552 Ventura Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 91403

LA food guide

Churro heaven! **inserts heart emojis** All  of the churros here are vegan, and you can also get them stuffed with a variety of sauces (ask to insure your choice is vegan). They also have churro ice cream sandwiches and churro waffles! They usually have at least 2 non dairy ice cream flavors on hand but if you plan on trying them you better go early because on the weekends they have been known to run out! Happy days cafe is a great little dessert spot that you should check out when in the valley.

9. Wanderlust Creamery – V and VT (Dessert)

3134 Glendale Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90039

LA food guidePictured Above: Mango sticky rice ice cream on a purple yam cone.

Wanderlust Creamery is a ice cream shop that offers a plethora of different ice creams including 3 different flavors that happen to be dairy free! I tried the mango sticky rice flavor and it was beyond AMAZING! Creamy, luscious, but not too sweet, it was literally some of the most perfect ice cream I have EVER tasted. They have 3 different locations around Los Angeles, so this is a definite GO GET when looking for ice cream in LA.

10. Donut Friend – V

5107 York Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90042

LA food guide

Vegan donut capital of Los Angeles! Donut friend is an all vegan donut shop that has two options, you can either pick their “regular” flavored donuts or take a donut and create your own insane donut fantasy. They have ice cream, whipped cream, and tons of toppings! Donut friend is definitely one of the stops you should make when traveling in LA.

I hope that you guys enjoyed my LA food guide, if you did please let me know and I can keep making these! I personally have tried all of these spots and they all taste great, hopefully you all enjoy them as much as Willie and I did! Happy eating friends.
